The Baby Show Stars !

I went to The Baby Show on Friday and so far have not really given you the reader much of an insight in to what I liked, for that I'm sorry. To make amends I'm going to show you the products which I loved. I made most of the stand occupiers giving me a good sales pitch of their products so I could deliver you my best thoughts on the products.

I have to say this is not an original Idea I got the idea from two amazing blogs Mumma Melio and My life, My Son, My Way. If you want a good read check these guys out.

Right here we go I was impressed with a lot of the things at the baby show but here are the products which seriously impressed me. I'm going to start with the two products which excited me the most.

The bunk cot company really impressed me with their space saving bunk cot's. It allows you to save a considerable amount of space and for us this product would be great for when Olivia is ready to move in to the boys room. The cots are suitable for newborns and are easily converted into bunk beds. The beds can be used right up until the children are 6 which is great.

Crystal Imprints sell beautiful glass impressions of your children's hands or feet, and they look amazing. I'm seriously considering getting a set. The impressions are aesthetically good looking and would look great displayed on any living room mantle piece. They have a range of colours, sizes, shapes and all come with stands. The impressions are made from clay and can be done at home then sent to the factory by post.

Strider balance bikes do they make these for adults ? The perfect product to keep the boys entertained for hours, they retail for £84.99. The bike is mega light and very strong also I liked that the rider when ready could stand on the frame near the rear. This would allow your child to gain lots of balance. I'd love to review this product as my boy's would love them.

Snugglebundl is a really well thought about product and would be great for us with Olivia at the moment. The blanket allows you to easily lift baby in and out of the car set with out disturbing them. The product allows you to lift the baby in the blanket but at the same time fully supporting their neck and spine.

Funky box is great way to carry your wet wipes around and the product seals its self so the wet wipes stay wet. The box allows you to dispense one wipe at a time and they have a larger box which goes well in nurseries. The one displayed above is the travel box and there is a lot of designs to choose from.

Vera Temp a non-contact infrared thermometer its simply brilliant. It can be so difficult to get the kids temperature sometimes so this product would make it so much easier. Its so simple to use just point and click and you get your reading, you can save the reading so you do not forget. The product has been proven to be more consistent that traditional ear thermometers, also as it is non-contact its a more hygienic way of measuring.

Pourty makes potty time much less hassle, I'm talking from experience. I have two potties each 99p from supermarkets and the amounts of times I have made a mess. This product makes this transaction between pee and toilet a much smoother one.

Fill and squeeze have a product which allows you make up and puree your babies food then fill the pouches. This makes meal time a lot less messy and make getting veg into your little ones fun.

Tommee Tippee The Perfect Prep Machine

Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Machine

So sounds like something you'd need a butler for!
On Friday we were treated to a product launch, Tommee Tippee's The Perfect Prep Machine. So with out further a do, here it is Tommee Tippee's Prefect Prep Machine Daddy Space product big reveal.

Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Machine

So as you can see visually very impressive and would look great on the kitchen side.  So it looks good but what does it do?

1 Filters your tap water.

2 Delivers a small "hot shot" to kill any bacteria in the feed and ensures the formula dissolves quickly and easily.

3 Dispenses the correct amount of water to make up your feed.

....this all means the bottle is ready to serve at body temperature - in under 2 minutes.

Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Machine

The advice is always changing for what you should do to safely make bottles. Whilst the advice remains that breast is best (something we decided not to do) this machine makes it easy to make a perfectly safe bottle for your baby every time.

The advice today is that you should sterilise each bottle individually and boil the water for each bottle when you need it. As you can imagine at 2am in the morning this is just sounds like hell, the perfect prep machine makes all this possible in under two minutes. The normal price is £99.99 but the Asda baby and toddler event price is £65.00 a saving of £34.99

So what did we think about it ? Well to be honest I can not find a fault with the product, I have not had the pleasure of using it yet but what it does seems to tick all the boxes. The main thing I like about the product is that it will produce the perfect bottle will virtually no effort. I also really like that the "hot shot" is delivered at the correct temperature to kill any harmful bacteria is the formula. Although the chance of harmful bacteria being present in the formula is so low its hardly worth mention, its nice to know that this machine protects against that tiny risk.

Will this product work for us? At the moment we bulk make our bottles in advance just the water part with the measured formula in the Tommee tippee milk dispensers. We always struggle to work out if we are doing things right and worry that we will be putting Olivia at risk. This product would put these fears to bed and all in two minutes makes it a must have product.

Tommee Tippee Big Reveal

I was invited by Inspire me media to a big reveal of Tommee tippee's latest innovation. Tommee Tippee have chosen to showcase the product at The Baby Show ExCel London, which is happening 22nd/24th Febuary. I have never been to an PR event before so as you can imagine I'm rather excited.

What do I know about the product in question? Well not a lot, everything is being kept very quiet. All I know is that it can do what ever it does with in two minutes and you would have never thought it possible.

Well, obviously with this as a taster how could I say no to going to the event. I'm so excited as part of the treat we will get tickets to the show and also some nibbles and a drink ! As I said before I have never been to a PR event before so I'm unsure of what to expect, but still very excited. I have made myself some business cards to take along as I'd also like to meet with company's at the show.

Well if you are planning a trip to the baby show then be sure to check out the product release from Tommee Tippee. Ill be back on the Laptop to write a post about the show and the product release on Sunday. Be sure to check back then to see what the big secret is.

Tantrums, dribble and trouble.

How can this lot cause a post title like Tantrums, dribble and trouble I hear you ask whilst cooing over this angelic looking picture. Well let me tell you its all a front to a much more darker side the boys "Charlie" have decided to adopt recently.

This behavior has suddenly worsened this Saturday, we have experienced the odd blip with him before now but nothing on this scale. It all started in the morning we were due to visit our favorite place Crealy Adventure Park but Charlie was just ignoring us. We had given him a number of warnings and he still continued to be defiant screeching no at us, storming around hitting Harry and us. It got to the point where we said, "That's it! Your not going" and that was that we didn't go. This is how out of sorts Charlie was, he just didn't seem to bat an eyelid, he acknowledged that he was not going and expressed a sense of disappointment. Normally it would have devastated him, this is what makes me wonder whats going on whats changed in his life to numb the disappointment of not going to Crealy.

On the same day when I went to put him to bed, it was just me Katy had gone out, the boys decided that it was monkey time. But again Charlies behavior got to the point where it just wasn't our child. On the numerous occasions when I went to stop all the jumping, screaming and shouting Charlie simply laughed. He ran away from me, shouted go away, thew things at me and physically hit me. Watching him do this was like watching him running on a bad fuel he just was not being our normal Charlie.

Whats certain about this situation is action is required to address his behavior but obviously these situations are not as cut and dry as 1,2,3. The first thing for us to address is what makes his behavior worsen. I have noticed his behavior gets more ignorant when I get home from work or like on Saturday when they have just me in-charge. I have to identify whether it is a jealous thing towards Harry who is desperate for my attention when its just me. Or whether it could be my attitude which can be a bit sporadic at times. I know I need to address this as it can often confuse the kids.

Although I know I need to be less inconsistent, I do not think it on its own has brought this sudden behavioral change in Charlie. It probably has not helped but I feel the blame lies in diet. We provide the kids with a healthy balanced diet, with a good dinner time routine and good table manners. I feel that we have let some of the standards slip somewhat recently. I'm not saying we have been feeding them super-size me MC Donald's meals, but some slightly more unhealthy options have been on the menu recently. Mixed with us being a little bit weak with enforcing dinner time routine, I feel here is where we are getting the most problems from.

Although Harry plays up when Charlies bad behavior gets bad, you can see Harry is not instigating anything he is simply following Charlies lead. I'd like to re-establish a good consistent healthy dinner, healthy snacks and weak sugar free juices throughout the day. If this is possible we should be able to calm the boys down enough to get back to the happy house we are used too.

Whilst all this has been going on Olivia is beginning to dribble a barrel load of the stuff a day, a sure sign teeth are on the way.

GlassesUSA

When I was asked about writing this post I did not think that it would be something my readers would be interested in. However 60 % of adults wear eye glasses and the statistics say that most people pay over the odds. GlassesUSA.com are striving to offer people the highest quality optical products at the most affordable prices. When I realised what GlassesUSA were all about I decided that most of my readers would be interested in hearing about them.

GlassesUSA have partnered up with some of the best laboratories in the industry, this enables them deliver the best deals and service possible. Their glasses online store is easy to navigate and provides the visitor with concise and clear information. I liked that the different glasses sections are clearly laid out. Firstly, in to male and female sections and then further sub sections give you every option you could want when choosing glasses.

The company’s commitment to providing you with cheap eyeglasses is what first made me want to share GlassesUSA with you. However something else appealed to my inner child, their virtual mirror which allows you to try on different styles of glasses with a click of a mouse. They have allowed me to include their virtual mirror in this posting I have to say it’s a lot of fun I’d love for you to try it out as well. (See bottom of the post)

I’m very impressed with GlassesUSA approach to customer service and also their approach to the sale of eyeglasses. I have always considered a trip to the opticians to be an expensive outing however, I feel with this approach to the sale of glasses it can be affordable for everyone.

I just had to share with you the picture of me wearing a pair of glasses using the virtual mirror.
GlassesUSA are offering you the reader 10% off any order of prescription glasses use code: Blog10.

Early Learning Center Digi-cool Review

For Christmas Charlie got a ELC Digi-cool camera I though I'd share with you my thoughts on the product.

Firstly, lets start with what Charlie and what he thought of the Early learning center (ELC) Digi-Cool. After all he is in the products demographic age range and his thoughts make the Digi-Cool a success or failure.

He completely loves the product he loves just taking picture of anything. When he started with the  ELC Digi-cool he wasn't actually taking pictures he was just pressing the button, not waiting long enough. We were able to teach him how to use it properly fairly easily, because the Digi-cool makes a capture noise when the picture has been taken. We made Charlie slow down and listen to the capture sound, now he knows he has to wait for that sound for the picture to be taken.

We have not yet been able to get hm to play any of the games, however he is only three years old so this is not a negative point to the ELC Digi-cool.

Here he is getting in on Mummy and Daddy Photo shoot !

What do we like about it,

It keeps Charlie focused on a particular subject.
He learns how to aim the camera at a subject thanks to the screen.
Easy navigation between the menus to view pictures taken.
Great looking design and easy to hold.
Convenient strap to avoid drops.
Fun to use with games as an option when finished taking photos.
Easy picture upload.
Simple and easy to learn what the buttons do.

What we didn't like,

We have found the picture quality poor, my phone takes better quality images.
The battery slot cover is far to easy to remove for tiny fingers.

The ELC Digi-cool product is very good and even though we had a few issues with picture quality and the battery slot covers, I'm still impressed. I'd happily recommend but would think issues like the picture quality would prevent me getting another one in the future when Charlie and Harry were older.

Ratings 0 Poor - 10 Outstanding

Easy of use for  9/10
Design  9/10
Quality of products main function 6/10

Overall 7/10

'Our babies' Photo shoot

Inspired by Kerry from Oh So Amelia and her recent venture in to professional photography she has a facebook page. We decided it was about time to take some proper photographs of our babies. I'm by no stretch of the imagination a photography wizard but I do love the subject of photography. I own a little piece of photography beauty, that's my NIKON D3100. I will avoid using the big green auto button on top instead trying to get used to the Manual  option but this doesn't always work out .

Here is our set up, we choose this wall because there is two light sources which gave great reflections and shadows.

As you can see this was a family activity and Charlie loved having a go with his kidi zoom camera, of which I will be doing a review of soon.

For this shoot I had an ISO 3200 f4.5 and a shutter speed of 200

I have uploaded the creme de la creme. Out of 200 photos we got 8 goodun's, my wife took some of the good ones much to my disgust.

My favorite her eyes get me every time

We loved taking these pictures and plan to do them more regularly to document the kids growth with much clearer pictures.
